Hello Third Grade Families!
We are currently in our States of Matter science unit. Ask your child to tell you the 4 states of matter (solid, liquid, gas, and plasma).
Yesterday, we did some very fun experiments and the students asked if I would share the steps here on the blog so they could show you what they learned.
We were learning that air (gas) takes up volume (space) through the following demonstrations:
https://www.steampoweredfamily.com/activities/keep-paper-dry-water/
and
https://www.thoughtco.com/candle-science-magic-trick-607494 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-KcZ59_sQE
We also did an experiment with a balloon in a pop bottle. If your student would like directions for this experiment, please have them ask for a handout and I will send it home with them.
