Math Units 6 & 7

Hello 3rd Grade Families!

You will be noticing that our lessons for unit 6 and 7 will be mixed up at times and you may be wondering why it seems that we are skipping around in the units. This is so we can make sure we get all the content introduced to the students before the CMAS test.

You will need to check your child's planner to see what Unit and lesson we covered each day (6-7 means Unit 6, Lesson 7). If your child forgets his/her homework sheet, just click here  for a copy. If you do not have a printer at home, please feel free to write the answers on a sheet of paper and return to me.

If you need help with answers, vocabulary, or strategies you can click here to get the Family Letter. The Family letter is listed as the last unit of the prior Unit. For example, Unit 6's Family Letter shows as Homelink 5.12.

Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Abbey

Typing!

Hello Families!
I am very happy to announce that almost all our Room N families signed up for conferences, and ALL of you who signed up made it in for a conference. Thank you for that!

One question that came up in MANY of the conferences was: If my child needs to type for the upcoming CMAS test, how can I help them improve their typing skills?

Well, I have an answer! :)

I've set up a class on typing.com, a great FREE resource that helps students learn keyboarding skills.

In order to have your child access our class, follow these simple steps:
1. Visit https://www.typing.com/student/login
2. Your child's Username is his/her lunch number (student ID)
3. Everyone's password is Tigers88

I will be able to see when and how often they practice. I will try to get some practice time scheduled here in the classroom, but it will be very helpful if you can find 5 minutes a night for your child to practice at home.

Thank you so very much, and as always, contact me with any questions or concerns.

A Sub This Week and Conference Sign Ups

Hello Third Grade Families,
As you know, I have been out of the classroom this week to be with my dad in his final days. He passed peacefully at home yesterday with my brother, stepmom, and I by his side.

Mrs. Hunter is scheduled to come the rest of the week. She has been with the class enough to know their needs and has established a good connection with them. The third grade team has been incredibly supportive in providing her with good plans. We have our Earth Balloon in-school field trip tomorrow (Thursday). The Children's Museum will be bringing an exciting experience here to Tarver. Read more below:

I will be back on Monday the 10th and look forward to being back with class.

I will hold conferences as planned on Wednesday the 12th. Please click on the sign up genius link, here, to sign up for a time.

Thank you!
