Happy Birthday Holden!
Today we helped Holden celebrate his birthday!
He chose to have a bonus recess for his celebration. The kids had a great time playing on the new playground for an extra 15 minutes today. Holden played basketball!

Happy Birthday Ahmet!
Today we celebrated with Ahmet, who will be turning 8 tomorrow!
Ahmet chose to play games in class for his celebration. We had Charades, Uno, Go Fish, and other card games around the room. Everyone had a great time! Happy Birthday Ahmet!

The Playground is OPEN!
We were VERY excited today when the new playground officially opened for play in time for our afternoon recess.
It was so fun to watch the third graders run, jump, climb, and play on the new equipment.

Assessment Day is Tuesday, September 3rd. We will be assessing student's reading skills using the PALS Screener. This is a one-on-one reading test.
Please sign up for one time slot. I will have five students in the classroom for each time slot. The slots are one hour. This is the only hour that your student will need to attend school that day.

Friday Folders
Hello 3rd Grade Families!
We have had a wonderful start to the school year. I hope your child has shared with you a little about what we've been doing so far. We've been practicing our Morning Meetings, which are really going to help us establish community here in Room N. We've also been making new friends, getting to know each other a little better, and learning the daily routines. We've practice reading, writing, and math.
On Fridays, your child will come home with a Friday Folder. Please go through the folder with your child. Today's folder will have an art permission slip that must be signed and returned. You'll also see a letter about the Tarver Birthday Celebration menu. Be sure to give that a read so you know how we'll be celebrating birthdays here in Room N.
Each morning, I will check your child's Planner to see that you have signed off. Please sign their planner each night after they have completed their homework. Feel free to write notes to me in their planner as well.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns anytime!

We will have an open house style here in third grade, so stop by Room N anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 to say hi, drop off your school supplies, and see our classroom!
